Students will develop critical thinking skills through diverse activities in order to analyze our country’s history. We have a new textbook this year - McGraw Hill “Discovering Our Past: A History of the United States” which has a lot of great resources. We will also be using History Alive, the DBQ Project, historical novels and non-fiction books to supplement the curriculum. Students can expect research based projects, extensive and complex writing components, document based questions, and complex problem solving activities. Students will also be given reading assignments to complete at home. It is critical that students keep up with the reading assignments as they play a major role in instruction and learning.
